- to prevent injury: warm up and stretch to stimulate the circulation and prepare the body for physical stress
- in the event of injury: immediately stop what you are doing, cool the area for approx. 20 minutes and then begin wrap therapy
- elevate the affected area and rest
- once the injury has healed: build up muscle or attend physiotherapy
Wrap treatments with the liquid for external use "Retterspitz Äußerlich" reduce swelling and pain in the event of pulled ligaments, strains and sprains while also drawing away excess heat. Depending of the affected area of the body, either the wrap for neck and smaller joints "Retterspitz Wickel für Hals und kleinere Gelenke", the knee bandage "Retterspitz Kniebandage" or the shoulder wrap "Retterspitz Schulterwickel" would be suitable for this treatment. After removing the wrap, a massage with the muscle treatment "Retterspitz Muskelcreme" promotes the mobilisation of the injured tissue. For the massage, use a line of cream, approx. 5 cm long. After applying the cream, keep the area warm. In the case of wounds, apply a thin layer of the healing and wound ointment "Retterspitz Wund- und Heilsalbe" to the affected area.
