Feeling bloated, a distended stomach, infrequent bowel movements: magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, also known as Epsom salt, is used as a laxative. It works by drawing water into the intestines. This softens the stool and promotes bowel movement. This can help relieve constipation quickly and effectively or optimally prepare the intestines for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

How to use
Unless otherwise prescribed, adults should drink 2 level measuring spoons (10-15 g) of Retterspitz Abführpulver dissolved in approx. 250 ml of water. For rapid bowel emptying, 4 level measuring spoons (20-30 g) should be dissolved in approx. 500 ml of water and drunk. Children over 6 years of age should receive half the dose of powder and water.
